A panel of leading regional and international primary healthcare specialists will address Mediclinic Middle East’s Primary Care Conference on 11 and 12 May in Abu Dhabi.  With Primary Care becoming an increasing focus for the UAE’s healthcare regulators, this conference will address the issues facing this segment and provide in-depth knowledge and insight from experts in their field.

The conference will be opened by Paul Hetherington, Director of Strategy at HAAD.  Other distinguished members of the faculty include, among others, Dr. Albie de Frey, Medical Director at INHEMACO S.A and member of the WHO Expert Roster on Travel Health, Dr. Stephen Samples, Chief of the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi and Dr. Sven Fohte, Chief Commercial Officer at Daman National Insurance Company.

Dr. Zakaullah Khan, Senior Corporate Medical Director at Mediclinic Middle East (Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Western Region) and Conference President, said, “The conference aims to improve the coordination of treatment throughout the Continuum of Care.  This includes the delivery of healthcare over a period of time, from birth to end of life, as well the process from initial visit to a primary care physician, throughout the referral process to completion of treatment. I believe that this conference will contribute greatly to the knowledge and expertise of primary care professionals, and the improvement, through mutual understanding, of coordinated care between primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services.”

Registrations for the conference can be made at  Entry fees are AED225 for nurses/technicians and AED350 for doctors with reduced rates for Mediclinic Middle East staff.
