- With over two decades of practising in the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Sanja brings a wealth of experience and international certifications to the Mediclinic team.
Dr Sanja’s graduated from the Novi Sad Medical University and her postgraduate qualifications from reputed European institutions include the Diploma in Child Health from The Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, MRCPCH from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of the United Kingdom, and a Master’s degree in Paediatric Infectious Diseases from the University of Oxford. As part of her postgraduate studies at Oxford University, Dr. Sanja published her doctor’s dissertation on the Prevention of Invasive Pneumococcal Diseases and Herpes Zoster Virus Infections. Dr Sanja is a member of the European Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases and is registered with the General Medical Council in the United Kingdom.
With 25 years of practising at major paediatric hospitals, outpatient specialist clinics, intensive care units and emergency departments, Dr Sanja is proficient in treating various acute and chronic medical conditions, as well as in the training of new doctors. She was also part of the Accident and Emergency team at Al Wasl Hospital, where she received the Employee of the Year Award in 2006.
During her tenure at Al Wasl Hospital, Dr. Sanja worked at the Bronchial Asthma Respiratory Clinic and gained valuable experience in treating a broad range of respiratory conditions, recognition and diagnosis of asthma, eczema and allergies.
Dr Sanja’s expertise spans across a broad range of skills including diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, recognition and treatment of tropical diseases, insect bite diseases and the rare parasite related diseases. Furthermore, Dr Sanja provides infectious diseases related advice, both during pregnancy and after delivery, including neonatal screening.
She has experience in paediatric dermatology from very early infancy through childhood and adolescence. Special considerations are required for immature immune systems and later on hormonal changes in adolescence as well as internal problems, representing on the skin that warrant targeted investigations.
