- Dr Shaden is a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist with more than 18 years’ experience in Paediatrics and Paediatric Gastroenterology, who specialises in paediatric digestive diseases, liver, nutrition disorders, and endoscopy procedures in children. Dr Shaden is a graduate of the Medical College at Damascus University, Syria from 2000. She holds an Arab Board degree in General Paediatrics from 2005, and the MRCPCH 1 and 2 from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK. She completed a clinical fellowship training in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in Saudi Arabia, and trained in endoscopy procedures in children at many specialised hospitals in the Gulf region. She has worked in various prestigious tertiary hospitals and in paediatric liver transplant centres in the Gulf region, and has performed more than 1000 endoscopy procedures in children such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, varices banding, sclerotherapy, oesophageal dilatation, and management of gastrointestinal bleeding in children.
Dr Shaden has been published in many international journals of paediatric gastroenterology. She has contributed as a committee member to the academic fellowship training programme in paediatric gastroenterology at Saudi Arabia and is a member of the paediatric gastroenterology societies in the Gulf Region. Dr Shaden has particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease, very early onset IBD, and chronic diarrhoea in children.
