- Dr. Sunita, prior to moving to Dubai, was a senior consultant in the UK and has over 30 years’ experience and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and management of a wide range of mental health and neuropsychiatric disorders. She has huge experience caring for adults with mental health issues and promoting their wellbeing, and is skilled in early intervention and prevention of mental illnesses. She uses a holistic bio-psycho-social model in understanding and treating mental illness using both psychological and pharmacological treatments. She provides person-centred care based on evidence-based medicine. She is committed to raising awareness of mental health services, and removing stigma of psychiatric illness in the community. She also believes in the importance of psychological education for patients and their families.
She is able to communicate fluently in English, Hindi and other languages and is well placed to address issues in patients from a wide range of backgrounds. She has good listening skills, and builds a good rapport and trust with her patients and their families.
