Dr. Ali Reza is a leading laparoscopic surgeon with more than 25 years’ experience working at leading hospitals in the UAE. During his career, Dr. Ali has made several significant contributions to the country’s medical sector:
Performed the first laparoscopic gynaecological surgeries at Iranian Hospital
•Introduced laparoscopy in abdominal trauma and cancer surgeries
•During his time at Rashid Hospital he introduced 11 new laparoscopic surgeries
•Established Canadian Hospital’s comprehensive laparoscopic department in 2010, performing groundbreaking surgeries such as colon resections, hiatal hernia repairs, and cancer surgeries
•Honoured by King’s College Hospital for his efforts establishing their clinics and operating under challenging conditions when the hospital first opened in 2019
•Spearheaded the launch of Mediclinic Parkview Hospital’s hernia clinic.
His achievements in advancing innovations in the field of laparoscopy have been recognised by the German Society of General Surgeons and the Canadian Hospital. Furthermore, Dr. Ali has recived the following accolades: Distinguished Employee Award from DHA Rashid Hospital for four consecutive years and the award for humanitarian actions from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ali has always had a passion for training and educating the next generation of surgeons, he has mentored a number of resident doctors teaching them advanced laparoscopic techniques. In addition to hosting educational medical conferences and workshops, enabling the sharing of best practice and support the continued development of this field.
