Earlier in my career, Dr.Hayek finished Emergency Medicine residency at USEK (Lebanon) and ULB (Belgium) universities where he accomplished all needed basic and advanced clinical practice as an Emergency physician. This was followed by an additional one year training in Belgium – Erasmus Hospital (Brussels) – where he gained additional experience in evidence-based medical practice, patient diagnosis and treatment services, to a high standard that would help any hospital achieve its healthcare goals. Following that, Dr. Hayek had one more year of training in France – Medical Center of Rambouillet (Paris) – which was focused on ICU work that sharpened his skills, and experience in managing critically ill medical and surgical patients. Soon after, he came back to Lebanon and joined El-Kheir Hospital where he worked for more than three years. During that period, he joined Makassed General Hospital in Beirut as the head of the Emergency Room committee and was the first to join this academic hospital as an Emergency physician. In addition to clinical work, he was responsible of teaching internal medicine and surgery residents that regularly rotated in the emergency room. Last but not least, he always tried to be up to date in medical knowledge, as well as in needed certificates as: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS.
