Dr. Ilari Pajamaki has more than 15 years of experience as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon. He completed his medical degree at Tampere University Medical School, Finland in 2003 and started specialization in Orthopaedics and Traumatology in 2006 at Tampere University Hospital, Finland. He gained comprehensive experience in the field of hip and knee arthroscopy surgery in Hatanpaa Hospital Arthroscopy Center, Finland during his work from 2007 to 2009, which at the time had accreditation of European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA). Years 2011-2018 he worked in Tampere University Hospital, which is the second largest University hospital in Finland with over 1000 beds and considered a level-I trauma center. He gained substantive experience in hip replacement surgeries at Coxa Joint Replacement Center, Tampere, Finland which is the largest joint replacement unit in Northern Europe with about 6500 joint replacements performed annually. In 2015 he was appointed as the Head of Pelvic and Lower Limb Unit, and 2017 Deputy Chief in Orthopaedics and Traumatology department and Head of Trauma. He has worked full-time in the UAE since mid-2018 and joined Mediclinic Parkview Hospital January 2019. He is a member of Finnish Orthopedic Association, Finnish Trauma Association, AOTrauma Europe, Middle East and Africa and faculty member of AOTrauma Europe.
Dr. Ilari Pajamaki also has vast experience in the field of Sports Medicine. He has six years of experience as a Head of Medical Team of a Finnish National League ice-hockey team and suc-cessfully operated on numerous professional ice-hockey players and other athletes with hip and knee injuries/problems. He was appointed as Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at MBRU 2019.
