Dr Satyajit Sahu graduated from Grant Medical College & J.J. Group of Hospitals in Bombay, India 1989. He qualified in Pediatric Medicine from Mumbai, India in 1992 from Seth G.S Medical College & King Edward Memorial Hospital with a MD & DCH. He trained in Clinical Hematology & Laboratory Medicine at leading hospitals in India including KEM Hospital Mumbai, CMC & Hospital Vellore (Madras) and Tata Memorial Hospital and Cancer Institute (Mumbai) before moving to the UK in 1996. He also qualified as an Adult Physician in UK from the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). His UK hematology training (CCT Hematology) was from Royal Marsden Hospital (Sutton & Fulham) and St George’s Group of Hospitals, Tooting, London, working in some of the best hospitals in UK including King’s College Hospital, London, Royal Marsden Hospital and St George’s Hospitals in South London). In 2006 Dr Sahu was first appointed as Consultant Hematologist in NHS Services thus delivering 17 years of professional dedication to his clients both on the NHS as well as on the Private / Corporate sector.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital & Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust, , Woolwich, London was his last NHS substantive Consultant position from 2014- 2023. Dr Sahu has held various management positions in NHS as Clinical Director, Divisional Director, Research Lead, Pathology Lead, Clinical Director of Pathology & Laboratory Services and Lead for Transfusion services at different NHS Hospitals. He has also been a PI for various NHS and Commercial Clinical Trials within UK, working closely with Pharmaceutical Industries promoting innovation, & R&D. His interests cover all aspects of Hematology & Haemato-Oncology, with a particular interest in Lymphoma and Myeloma. He has extensive experience in Laboratory Medicine and Transfusion Medicine. He also specializes in Autoimmune Hematological disorders, Iron Disorders, Thrombosis & Haemostasis.
