Dr. Aparna Gumma is a highly experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, renowned for her dedication to patient care, medical education, and healthcare leadership. With extensive expertise in high-risk obstetrics, labour ward management, and minimally invasive gynaecological surgeries such as hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, she also specialises in colposcopy, menopause care, and cosmetic and functional gynaecology. Her interests extend to general, paediatric, and adolescent gynaecology, where she provides compassionate, individualised care to her patients.
Dr. Aparna was previously the Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King’s College Hospital in Dubai Hills, before joining Mediclinic Parkview Hospital. In 2023, she was appointed Director of the OBGYN Residency Training Programme by the Dubai Health Authority, a role that reflects her commitment to mentoring the next generation of doctors. She is also Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Gulf Medical University, an Examiner for MBRU in Dubai, and a supervisor for summer scholar programmes.
Before moving to the UAE, she worked as a consultant at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in the UK, where she served as Maternal Medicine Lead and Diabetic Pregnancy Lead. She was actively involved in medical education as Director of Postgraduate and Undergraduate Training and as a Senior Lecturer at Cardiff Medical University. In these roles, she mentored consultants, improved educational environments for students across various disciplines, and contributed to establishing the North Wales Medical School.
Dr. Aparna was a gold medalist and best outgoing student in MD in India and completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the West Midlands, UK. She holds prestigious qualifications, including MRCOG and FRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK; MRCP and FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland; and a Fellowship in Cosmetic Gynaecology from ISSAG. She also has advanced training in high-risk pregnancy, labour ward management, and colposcopy.
A dedicated educator and researcher, she has been a Principal Investigator in clinical trials and regularly shares her expertise as an invited speaker at international conferences. Her work reflects a strong commitment to promoting patient safety, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, and ensuring a holistic approach to care.
