Prior to moving to the UAE in 2020, Dr. Parrish worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist in the UK. With over 25 years of continuous service as an anesthetist, she has spent 16 years as in the UK National Health Service (NHS) mostly at University Hospital Ayr (UHA). She also worked in the UK private healthcare sector in Glasgow Ross Hall Hospital.
Dr. Parrish has experience in the provision of anaesthesia for a broad range of surgeries in the adult and paediatric population including bariatric surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, trauma and orthopaedics, urology, colorectal and upper GI, ENT and maxillofacial surgery.
She has special expertise in difficult airway management and bariatric anaesthesia. She was recognised by RCoA as the Lead Clinician for Difficult Airway Management within UHA. She was Lead Anaesthetist for the Bariatric Service in UHA.
She has a well-established record of developing or improving existing guidelines and procedures in peri-operative medicine with a particular focus on enhanced recovery pathways, in particular laparoscopic upper GI surgery and orthopaedics. She also has an interest in regional anaesthesia, especially epidural analgesia for labour.
