Dr. Marwa Hassan completed her bachelor degree of Medicine and Surgery at Ain-Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, from where she also obtained her master degree in Ophthalmology. Continuing her academic journey, she acquired the first and second parts of FRCSed in Ophthalmologyfrom The Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK. Additionally, she has completed Clinical Ophthalmology in the International Council of Ophthalmology. Most recently, she has acquired the title of Senior Consultant from the Egyptian medical Syndicate.

Dr. Marwa Hassan has a wealth of experience in ophthalmology, specialising in general, paediatric and emergency eye care. She has worked at several prestigious institutions in Egypt and the UAE. Her areas of expertise include refractive eye diseases, corneal disorders, strabismus, amblyopia and paediatric eye diseases, general eye eye care including, allergies, dry eyes, glaucoma, cataract, uveitis, conjunctival disorders, orbit and eyelid disorders, diabetic eye disorders, thyroid eye disorders, hypertensive eye disorders, neuro-opthalmology disorders.

Her research projects focus on various opthalmology topics including: Excimer laser corneal refractive surgery, glaucoma ocular hypertension, optic nerve diseases, corneal degenerations and dystrophies.

She is a member in the Ophthalmological Society of Egypt.
