Dr. Ehsan is a highly experienced UK trained anaesthetist with more than 27 years of experience in the speciality. He completed his basic medical education and training in Pakistan. Further training took him to Riyadh Armed Forces Hospital in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. From there he moved to the UK to complete his training and attained the Fellowship (FRCA) of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in London. In the UK, he trained at well-recognised NHS trusts in the North West of England and also completed hid Fellowship in Obstetric Anaesthesia. He was successfully awarded CCT in 2015. In the UK, he held a substantive post of Consultant in Anaesthesia, Pain and ICU at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS trust. He is passionate about teaching and training junior doctors in training.
In 2017, he joined Al Ain Hospital as a Consultant in Anaesthesiology. During the COVID pandemic he was one of the team of consultants who helped to establish and run the COVID ICU successfully till 2021. He joined Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in 2021 and stayed there for three years. In collaboration with the DOH, he was the anaesthesiologist tasked to setup the UAE National Burns Service at SSMC. His special interests are obstetric anaesthesia, microvascular free flap surgery, thoracic and neuroanesthesia.
