Psychiatry

Psychiatry is a medical speciality that deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia. Psychiatric assessment may include a case history, initial mental evaluation, physical examination, psychological tests, neuroimaging and/or neurophysiological tests.

A psychiatrist may often work in conjunction with a psychologist when treating a patient, but only a psychiatrist is able to prescribe medication.
