Dr Richard Jones is a British trained GP (Family Medicine / Primary Care) having completed specialist training in General Practice, and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in London, UK.
After graduating from University of Wales, College of Medicine in 2000, and subsequently obtaining a post graduate diploma in sports medicine, Dr Jones practised in the UK, New Zealand and Dubai where he undertook roles in the NHS, military and aviation medical settings.
Dr Jones is passionate about holistic care for the whole family, and follows evidence based / best practice medicine, while also being a strong advocate of preventative medicine. He can assist with any number of complaints across all age groups from newborn babies to elderly patients.
He is a strong advocate for each individual having their own regular GP / primary doctor - particularly in Dubai – because he believes that doing so allows for a relationship to develop, which in turn means that the GP can carry out the necessary holistic care of the patient, including referrals, and feed back from sub-speciality doctors more effectively.
Dr Jones says this is proven to not only: “improve patient care, outcome and satisfaction,” but to add enormous benefit to both parties given that a persons’ full medical history in one place allowing better understanding and care by the attending GP/Family medicine/ Primary care doctor.
Dr Jones is capable in all aspects of GP/Family medicine, but has a special interest in men’s health and mental health, plus sporting injuries and rehabilitation.
Qualification
BSc (Hons) Physiology, MBBCh, MRCS, MRCGP, PgDip in Sports and Exercise Medicine
