Dr Umar is a specialist minimally invasive surgeon with working experience in Pakistan and the UAE. He moved to Dubai in 2016 and since then has worked as a general surgeon covering inpatient and emergency cases. He is a fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh since 2016 and holds the University diploma in Laparoscopic surgery from Strasbourg, France. Dr Umar is actively involved in training and educating medical students and junior doctors and is affiliated with Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) as an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer in General Surgery. He maintains an active research portfolio with several publications in peer reviewed journals and regularly presents at Conferences to share his clinical experience. He also is a dynamic member of many surgical societies and a reviewer for indexed scientific journals.
