Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurology is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle.
Our consultants are aware of the neuropsychiatric aspects of neurology and closely collaborate with centre psychologists and psychiatrists. Neurological practice relies heavily on the field of neuroscience, the scientific study of the nervous system.
The neurology team consists of physicians, nurses, physiotherapists and psychologists assessing and treating various conditions, including stroke, headaches, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and sleep disorders along with neuromuscular conditions, such as back pain, weakness and dizziness.
Our neurologists strive to develop individual treatment pathways for each patient taking a holistic approach. Close collaboration with other disciplines within the Neuroscience Centre provides multidisciplinary care to all patients.
