Neuroradiology is a subspeciality of radiology that focuses on using imaging techniques to diagnose and treat disorders of the nervous system, including the brain and spine.
A neuroradiologist performs diagnosis through imaging such as MRI and CT for conditions such as stroke, tumours, aneurysm, spinal stenosis, disc herniation, fractures and degenerative brain conditions.
Interventional Neuroradiology ( in particular endovascular neuroradiology) is performed to treat vascular diseases such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and stroke in elective and emergency cases.
At Mediclinic City Hospital our experienced neuroradiologist performs some of the key interventional neuroendovascular procedures such as cerebral and spin angiographies, embolisation of cerebral aneurysms, AVMs and AVFs, dual fistulas (spine and cerebral) , intra-arterious thrombolysis and thrombectomies.
