Mediclinic Middle has two dedicated Covid-19 laboratories – one at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital in Abu Dhabi and one at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai. The combined capacity of these laboratories is up to 5,000 tests per day.
The technology deployed in both laboratories relies on the latest developments in Covid-19 testing including the use of well established, FDA (EUA) and CE Marked testing kits for Covid-19 PCR testing from Thermo-fisher, the American Biotechnology Giant. These testing kits are of the highest sensitivity, results in fewer false positives and negatives. Each sample is tested individually with no sample pooling.
In line with local regulations our COVID laboratory in Abu Dhabi is ISO 15189:2012 accredited and the COVID laboratory in Dubai is CAP accredited. Please note these are specific accreditations for the COVID laboratories only; both laboratories are ISO accredited and the Dubai laboratory is also CAP accredited (a requirement of the Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Healthcare City Regulatory Authority) and the laboratory at Mediclinic City Hospital is additionally accredited by the College of American Pathologists.
