The hospital management have graciously supported Dr. Zainab Malik, Consultant Peadiatrician who is their dedicated volunteer. Our Dubai families are extremely grateful for this opportunity which allows them to be seen more locally and limits travel to Abu Dhabi. Thanks also go to Nurse Chiquel Pacheco for seamlessly arranging appointments and making our patients and families lives so much easier. We look forward to growing the partnership between Operation Smile UAE and Mediclinic City Hospital to allow patients the care they need in a friendly and caring environment.
Operation Smile is an international charity which provides free corrective surgeries for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate. Operation Smile UAE was established in January 2011 under the patronage of Sheikha Aljazia Bint Saif Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation. OS UAE has funded more than 16 international missions providing more than 3,600 corrective surgeries allowing children and young adults to smile and hope for a better future.
2021 is our ten-year anniversary and although many of our fund raising and awareness events have been postponed, our incredible teams of medical volunteers have always been ready to help the patients in need. We are so proud of all the medical volunteers, student volunteers, community and staff who made this possible. Of course, none of this could happen without the management of the hospitals who have partnered with us. The community spirit which has evolved around Operation Smile UAE is truly amazing and hopefully more people and companies will eagerly want to join our family and show that they believe as we do that Every Child Deserves a Smile!
